Abstract
Composite materials made of Graphene have gained much interest as they possess superior mechanical, electrical and thermal characteristics. This paper aims at synthesizing and characterizing graphene-based composites through a simple solution mixing technique. To prepare compound samples, ultrasonic dispersion of graphene nanopowder was done, and it was mixed with a polymeric matrix. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) were used to describe the prepared materials. The findings suggest that there is homogenization of the graphene, enhanced crystallinity, and high interfacial bonding in the composite. There was a great improvement in mechanical strength, thermal stability, and electrical conductivity with respect to the base material. The paper is able to note that graphene-based composites have potential in high-quality engineering and that proper dispersion and processing methods are essential.
